I remember this ad well. Even as a kid, I wondered why the Kotter comic? Even though I was a big fan of the show, I couldn't imagine really wanting the comic.
On the other hand, any random issue of Kotter probably outsold the first issues of Marvel's Secret Invasion and DC's Final Crisis.
