Recognize most of these characters but not the titles? That's because these are house ads from an Australian comic, called Wonder Comics, that featured an amalgam of DC characters.
I would love to know why some American titles made it over to other countries, and others were created especially for those markets.
And I'm intrigued by the title Bumper WesternComic.
I found this ad in an old issue of The Phantom Stranger. I wonder--was there any crossover audience between these books and PS?
Oh, and I guess one could suggest the Binky cover has some sort of sexual subtext. But as Sigmund Freud once said: "A water hose joke is sometimes just a water hose joke."
This as was sent to me by Robby Reed of Dial "B" For Blog. And even though this has always been a DC Comics Ad Blog, the ad is certainly cool enough to post, plus I just appreciate Robby taking the time to send it to me.
Also, as you can see, I decided to spiff up the blog a little--new header, a new poll, etc. Hope you all like it!
