I wonder if this is one of the first DC house ads where the creators get credit? I can't remember many before this mentioning who the creators were (aside from the "Kirby's Coming/Kirby's Here" stuff).
That being said, man, this run of New Gods was pretty much swept under the rug pretty quickly, wasn't it? I can't honestly said I've ever read much of it, but I know it was kicked out of contiuity, even before Crisis.
Don Newton is one of my favorite artists of all time, but I'm not sure he was a good fit for Kirby characters.
I followed this particular brand of New Gods avidly at the tender age of 12, and I really kept expecting a big finish. (Same goes for Englehart & Rogers on Mister Miracle -- sigh...) As I recall, the promised conclusion of The New Gods storyline over in Adventure couldn't possibly wrap everything up, but that didn't stop 'em from trying.
I do recall liking both titles a lot at the time, though. Despite their being irrelevant in the bigger DCU schema now, I wouldn't mind getting my hands on those issues of New Gods again.
