Odd League ad considering Nightshade and Thunderbolt were never League members.

I heard a rumor that DC doesn't own Peter Cannon, Thunderbolt anymore. That the rights reverted back the estate of creater Pete Morosi (I think I have his name right). Wonder if that's true?

Mignola!

I think PAM's fam did get the rights back, Chris. I seem to recall that Pete was trying to do something with the character when he died - and maybe had drawn a short DC series that never ran...?

Say, this looks vaguely familiar...!

Yes, DC gave the rights to Peter Cannon Thunderbolt back to Pete Morisi, probably not long after this story saw print. He was shopping it around but never, to my knowledge, sold it anywhere. The only Thunderbolt story he did for DC that I'm aware of was a retelling of the origin, written by Mark Waid, many years ago, for SECRET ORIGINS. I don't recall if it ran, or if only a few pages of it were used. I have B&W stats of it somewhere in my files.

I met Pete couple times when I was editing the PETER CANON, THUNDERBOLT series by Mike Collins. Once at lunch with Dick Giordano at the Society of Illustrators. He was a sweetheart of a man with a wealth of stories from comics and his years as a cop with the NYPD.
