Judging by how many ads they ran for it, DC had high hopes for the Plastic Man/Starman combo in Adventure Comics....which lasted less than a year.

Woo-hoo! T-t-t-talkin' 'bout my g-g-g-g-generation! Wait... the Plastic Man cartoon? I HATED the Plastic Man cartoon! I think Ditko & Wood's Stalker was covered previously, so maybe I'll wait for the '80s to get excited...
I loved the Ditko Starman - Steve Ditko AND cosmic adventures? Count me in! Of course, Adventure Comics only got better when Aquaman returned for his all too brief 1980 run.
I don't know what everybody else's problem was--I liked the Plastic Man and Starman stories. And a litle later on, they added Aquaman, too. Great combination!
And no, Frank, not the Plastic Man cartoon. This series was Marty Pasko, writer and Joe Staton artist (IIRC).
